Oops!! I've just discovered that this is a 1975 car, not a 76. It now has a full MOT to 5 July 2012. It flew through the test with no advisories.

While it was on the ramp, I got the chance to take some pictures of the underside and it's excellent under there. Aplologies for the quality of the pics but they were taken with my mobile phone.

The tester said it was one of the best he's seen for quite a while.

A short video.

Finally all back together and it looks stunning. Not only does it look good but the engine starts easily and runs cleanly with no nasty knocks or rattles and only gives a light puff of smoke on gear changes. This is now fixed and the car is a non smoker. The gearbox is good and the clutch is smooth and light. The overdrive operates exactly as it should on 3rd & 4th gear. Good tyres all round on refurbished Rostyles and a good spare on a good but not refurbished Rostyle wheel. It stops as well as it goes with fairly light pressure through the brake servo.

Please note that the nasty stain under the rear of the car is not from this car. It's the result of a whoopsie when I was doing an oil change on my TA.

New pictures showing the lovely fresh paint. Some of the trim is back on, but work has ground to a halt for now as Winter has hit with a vengance and to say I'm not keen on working in a freezing workshop would be an understatement.

This 1976 MGB GT is an earlier, documented, restoration which is now getting some TLC. The body is still in very good shape with some minor repairs needed, but the paintwork is terrible.

Mechanically the car is sound and has a current MOT which expires in September 2011. It is currently in the body shop for minor repairs and a repaint and will be available for sale when finished.

It won't be a show car but a very solid driver that will give good service for years to come.
